Can many datasets be brought together to reveal a story? Can that story lead to better business outcomes? Can we turn loads of data that the business has access to into knowledge and insights? What can we do with that? This is what I spend a lot of time doing. A decision that is backed by data is empirically a sound approach. One that isn't simply about taking a risk, but rather, taking a calculated risk. With cloud-based technologies, we can ingest massive amounts of data together, crawl it, catalog it, extract data sets, visualize and perform predictive analytics on these using machine learning. We should use the data to seek out trends and patterns and determine probable future events. Change the current trajectory of the business based on these signals and indicators.
